An Hour in Paris | A girl exploring Paris with her camera, 1 metro stop and 1 hour at a time.
This weeks ‘ An Hour In Paris’ takes us indoors… a photographic exploration of the of passages that run from The Grands Boulevards to the Palais Royal Gardens.
Starting at Metro Richelieu Drouot I made my way towards Passage des Panoramas.
I’ve been through these passages before but never seen them in such beautiful detail. I even spotted a cute little Gluten Free cafe called NOGLU in the Passage de Panoramas. How did I never see this? I’d just had lunch otherwise I’d have jumped in there to sample their sandwiches that looked so good when peeking through the windows.
I just love the old, vintage look and feel to this place. The dust and cobwebs on the signs show a sense of the passing of time. While wandering with my camera I took some moments to browse the old postcards and stamps and stare into the shop windows at experience this wonderful and fascinating piece of Parisian’ness!
Following the passage des panoramas through to the end you emerge out in to the open and if you are lucky enough, you will find the elusive Galerie Vivienne. It’s a little tricky to find but really worth it. Also if you are looking for a sweet reward after all your walking, the Bistro Vivienne at the end does amazing hot chocolate.
The finale of this stroll was the Palais Royal Gardens where you can stroll amongst the trees and stop by the fountain for a moment to sit and enjoy being … just being … in Paris.
