Photography adventures in Provence, France
Adventures in Provence.
As much as I have travelled around France, I’d never quite made it to the Provence region before. I had seen the photographs taken in the lavender fields online and I so wanted to create some images there for myself. I wanted to explore the area too for potential weddings and portrait shoots down there.
So my friend Victoria Farr and I went on an adventure to Provence… And of course she had to be the beautiful subject for my photography creations.
Using the photos for her Wedding Hair & Make-up personal brand.
A QUICK STOP AT NICE!
I loved Nice… We hired these cute blue bikes which are stationed all over Nice to cycle up along with sea front.
Like the Vélib in Paris. But MUCH safer! haha.
The town of Nice felt like Italy. I would go back again in a heart beat. 🙂
Adventures in the Lavender fields.
We drove from our country cottage up to Sault on a recommended Lavender trail and stumbled upon so many beautiful fields. Some which were not easily accessible and some not as fully grown as these… It was truly a fun game of spotting the perfect field for photos. There were so many too. And so many routes of fields covering a vast amount of mileage. But these ones we found were simply beautiful.

Behind the Scenes:
BUG SPRAY… Is a must …
I was running around these sunflower fields blissfully unaware, focused on taking awesome photographs. I didn’t realise until it was too late that bugs/Mosquitos had eaten me all over my legs… Oh la la .. what a itchy mess my legs were for days… Note to Self: Remember bug spray!
We drove so far and searched high and low for a sunflower field that wasn’t as we called ‘sad faced’. It must have been coming to the end of Sunflower season as their heads were all drooping….facing the ground. We had just about given up. It was 8pm at night and were on our way to Arles for dinner. With one last glimmer of hope we saw Sunflowers in the distance… AND OMG>. they weren’t sad faced. It couldn’t have been more perfect and divine timing.
Claire Morris – ME!!!
I couldn’t resist getting Victoria to swap places and take a photo of me – Soaking up the sunflower happy vibes.
SOOOOO much fun!!! LOVE MY JOB!
HOME FOR 3 Nights
We stayed at this darling Bed & Breakfast in Provence near Salon de Provence. http://lemasdesvergers.free.fr/
I could have stayed there for ever. I loved working outside in the beautiful garden every morning after breakfast.
I would so recommend it, if you want a great base in the countryside to explore Provence from. For me … this was bliss!
A day out in Pont du Gard
We drove over to this National Heritage spot in Provence. The Pont du Gard a 1000 year old ancient Roman aqueduct bridge that crosses the Gardon River, from which it takes its name. It is located in Vers-Pont-du-Gard near Remoulins, in the Gard département of southern France.
A perfect way to cool down in land in Provemce… get in the rivers for a dip! Don’t forget your picnic.
