Kristine & Gawah without ever having been to Europe, decided to follow a dream and elope in Paris at the incredibly beautiful La Maison de Centraliens. They brought their amazing smiles and so much laughter …. and a small group of loved ones to share and celebrate their wedding day and 5 beautifully fun years together. THEIR LOVE STORY
My sister was dating and had just moved in with Gawah’s best friend Tony. I was living in an apartment right near the water and we had severe flood and hurricane warnings. My sister insisted on me staying over at her place for a few days until the hurricane passed. I agreed but on the condition that we had a Hurricane party! Gawah was the only other person to show up for the party and we have honestly been inseparable since. That was exactly 2 days short of 5 years ago from our Paris wedding date 🙂
We planned a trip to California last year. (We had been there 2 years prior, but only for 3 days) we fell in love and we just had to go back. Gawah did his homework and found an island off of California called Catalina Island. We booked 5 days in LA and 2 on Catalina island! His plan (as I found out after) was to propose to me when we got to the island. In fact, the hotel room had a champagne bottle and balloons saying congrats when we arrived.
….2 days prior and oblivious to his grand plan; I wanted to take him to Disneyland because he’d never been there before. He got so excited at Disneyland that he couldn’t wait until we got to Catalina. He did it right in front of the castle at the very end of the night. It was amazing! The next day we drove up the coast in our rented convertible and it was the best day of my life. Catalina island was just that much better 😉
We wanted to get married in Paris because we love to travel and have been dying to finally go to Europe. I have always thought of Paris as the most romantic city in the world. Neither of us are traditional we just love a good adventure!
